The most known and popular Japanese grocery store in Clairemont. One of the best places to get on the go Onigiri (rice triangles filled with tuna or salmon), sushi, and bento boxes. They also carry your favorite Japanese cosmetic products, collectible toys and luxury chocolate. They have both a register and self service kiosks.

I really love this grocery store. I have been going to this market for years. They always consistently have good fresh food. I would go early in the morning if you want to get the first pic of what they have they have a lot of little lunchbox ideas if you are on a lunch break this is a good place to go.

Every time I come eat Ramen we always stop at Mitsuwa Market. This place always has cute Asian things and food. The place is always clean and friendly. They do not allow pets unless they're service animals. This place is always busy but a lot of fun to shop here.

Final stop on our weekend trip was to this market that one of my friends loves to visit when in SD- per him, we don't have anything of the like in Phoenix. I stuck with him going up and down all the aisles with my own cart in case something stuck out to me. I love that they have a cafe at the entrance - you can come hungry for that or any of their fresh sushi towards the front too! Mostly everything is in Japanese, but we discovered that my iPhone can provide a (rough) translation on everything. So that added to the fun of inspecting what's for sale and seeing if it sparked interest from me to buy. I found the stuffed bear crackers from my childhood memories (a neighbor was Japanese & her daughter and I were tight, ate them all the time when we weren't playing) so OFC I bought a box of those snackies. Those and a couple of individual mochi completed my transaction. I think if we didn't have to drive 6 hours and I came prepared with a frozen grocery bag I would've bought more. Regardless, glad I got to experience this fun store!

Smaller Mitsuwa with a smaller number of food court restaurants. Easy parking. Self check out available at the supermarket. I am a fan of crepes and love that they have a crepe shop here.

In San Diego there are a few places for Japanese market items. This is your standard Mitsuwa store but what I enjoy about coming here is getting their fresh fish and making lunch here. I want to upvote the ramen here as you can see my review for Santouka. But you have to come here and grab some of the fresh sushi pull up a chair or fight for one and then be able to eat your Ramen and your meal in peace. For $19 and tax you can have a sushi restaurant meal for "cheap" I shared this one with my wife.

So much fun and such nostalgia to browse and shop where the majority of inventory is imported directly from Japan. This shop was on my list during our San Diego leg of or vacation since they have mochi. We purchased gifts for Christmas-each wrapped beautifully

This was my first time at Mitsuwa Marketplace-San Diego location. Good place to shop for Japanese products, produce, sushi and more. There are two authentic Japanese ramen noodle restaurants inside called; Musashiya Japanese and Hokkaido Ramen Santouka, offering a variety of delicious ramen noodle meat options. I tried the #6 Niku Ramen from Musashiya and was delicious!! There's also a crepe shop called, "JCrepes & Cafe," with Japanese twist. I had the most delicious crème brûlée crepe and recommend splitting with someone because it's so big!! Mitsuwa Marketplace was very clean with friendly staff. If you want to experience a taste of Japan, definitely check out this place!! Happy Yelping :)
